The Blockchains ⛓

The Crews collection, as previously mentioned, spans across four different blockchains. This arrangement will foster a fascinating dynamic, enabling cross-community interaction, diverse pricing, narrative development, and much more. Here, we outline the chosen chains, the theme and reason associated with each:

ICON

• Theme: The City of Light is the backdrop for the four crews housed here, all of whom are upstanding members of society.

• Reason: ICON has been the home base for Alter for over a year. The combination of affordable transfers and a dedicated community has made our development journey both enjoyable and productive. We aim to leverage ICON's cross-chain technology, given that our collection spans four chains. We are firm believers of cross-chain capabilities, as they allow an NFT collection to traverse different networks, thereby opening doors to increased liquidity, opportunities, and much more. Of course, this needs to be done as securely as possible, and ICON is developing a fully decentralized transfer line and a service called xCall. This service will be compatible with other cross-chain solutions like IBC, offering increased flexibility.

SUI

• Theme: The City of Darkness is the setting for the four crews here, who embark on a darker path, for better or worse.

• Reason: The concept of dNFTs aligns exceptionally well with the Crews collection, and we believe that Sui will host a thriving NFT ecosystem due to their structure and NFT development friendly approach. We plan on utilising/ implementing ZKlogin to become more user friendly and help on-boarding. We see substantial potential for dNFTs, especially in creating unique traits based on real-world events, physical items, and narrative expansion. As you may know, Alter is a streetwear brand that already integrates blockchain technology into our physical products. We are excited about releasing limited edition physical streetwear collections that merge this technology with our NFT collections and collaborations. The narrative aspect of Crews will also benefit from dNFTs, as the artwork can be broken down, with each part carrying a distinct story. In the future, we plan to expand on this storytelling aspect by introducing new chapters that could be added to your Crew NFT. While we have more ideas we want to experiment with, we'll save some for a later date.
